Terms of service

Effective September 26, 2026

The short version

  • Household Clerk reads what you send and suggests calendar items. It can make mistakes, so check anything important against the original.
  • Nothing goes on your calendar unless you approve it, or you have told the clerk to trust that source.
  • You keep ownership of what you send. We use it only to run the service for you.
  • The pilot is free. We will ask before we ever charge you.
  • Reply STOP to any text message to stop messages.

1. Who we are

Household Clerk is operated by Daniel Kitchen, a sole proprietor (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using Household Clerk, including by texting or messaging its number, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

Household Clerk turns the school and activity messages you send (emails, photos, screenshots, files, and text messages) into suggested calendar items, and adds the ones you approve to the calendar you choose. It is in a private pilot: features will change, and there may be interruptions.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and live in the United States. The service is for parents, guardians, and other adults running a household. It is not for children, and children should not use it or text its number. You are responsible for your account and for the people you invite to your household.

4. What you send

5. The clerk can make mistakes

Household Clerk uses AI to read what you send. It can misread a date, miss an item, or put an event under the wrong child. Every suggestion shows the text it came from so you can check it. You are responsible for checking important dates, deadlines, and payments against the original message before relying on them.

6. Calendar connections

When you connect a calendar, you allow us to add the events you approve; to update events when you approve a change, or automatically for sources you have told the clerk to trust; and to read your existing events as described in our privacy policy. An event you created yourself is changed only when you approve that specific change. You can disconnect at any time.

7. Text messages and WhatsApp

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Household Clerk to break the law, to send spam or bulk messages, to send content you have no right to share, to harass anyone, or to probe, overload, or interfere with the service. Do not use it for another household without their permission.

9. Price

The service is free during the pilot. Before we charge for it, we will tell you the price and ask you to agree to it. If you do not agree, your use simply ends, and you can ask us to delete your data.

10. Ending

You can stop using Household Clerk at any time and ask us to delete your data (see our privacy policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, and we may end the pilot, giving reasonable notice when we can.

11. No warranties

Household Clerk is a pilot service provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.

12. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for missed events, lost data, or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 50.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or text message before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
